Alexander Isak Burglars Instructed to Pay Just £1 Per Person from £1.2 Million Heists

Members of an Italy-based clan of burglars who stole more than £1.2 million worth of items, including from ex- Newcastle United striker Isak, have been mandated to pay back only £1 per person.

Siblings Valentino and Giacomo, their female sibling Jela Jovanovic and her child Charlie Jovanovic journeyed to the north-east of England to burgle three houses in spring 2024.

The foursome were jailed for from a decade or less in 2025.

At a criminal assets proceeding at the court, Jela Jovanovic and the brothers Nikolov were instructed to repay £1 per person while Charlie Jovanovic must hand over over a thousand pounds.

Particulars of the Break-ins

The judge previously heard the group came by boat in the UK on March 27, 2024 and used a RV as their "headquarters", which they parked at a service area and Durham service stations while utilizing a separate vehicle to scout out properties and carry out burglaries.

On 31 March they took over one million pounds of goods including designer clothing, handbags, jewellery and a honor from a residence on a street in Jesmond, Newcastle, while the residents were away.

The following night, the crew broke into a house on a gated cul-de-sac in Whitburn, South Tyneside, and took luxury bags, jewellery and shoes worth over one hundred thousand pounds.

Legal Proceedings and Rulings

Valentino Nikolov had pleaded not guilty to the burglary plot but was convicted by jurors, while his family members had all submitted guilty pleas to the identical accusation.

Judge Spragg said if they were discovered with assets in the future, "for example operating Italy in a sports car or owning a home", the prosecution could seek new proceedings to "satisfy the amount due".
