Mikel Arteta Applauds a More Dependable Squad and Acknowledges Kai Havertz Setback.

Arsenal's manager remains confident that his side can continue to cope with player absences following revealing that attacker Kai Havertz remains out for several more weeks.

Prolonged Recovery for Havertz

Havertz has been sidelined since the summer following knee surgery. Initially expected to return sooner, the manager stated the player faced a hurdle when advancing his recovery and could not progress “the required stage.”

“We took lessons, and managed to assemble a group that is far more dependable and has increased versatility,” Arteta said.

The manager needs to decide between persisting with Mikel Merino, who scored in an unfamiliar forward role against Chelsea, or recalling Viktor Gyökeres, who made a return after a fitness issue as a substitute. Further fitness issues involve centre-back William Saliba and winger Leandro Trossard, who sat out the weekend encounter. Therefore, summer signings Cristhian Mosquera and Piero Hincapié are expected to continue in the backline for the Premier League front-runners.
