Devoted followers of the actress are calling for that a man who leaped a barricade and grabbed the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or expelled from Singapore.
A widely shared footage shows the Australian man bypassing media personnel and lunging at Grande while the actors proceeded down a promenade accompanied by fans.
Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the event by guards.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being detained", though official papers revealed that he was set to be present on the following morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.
This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram feed contains recordings of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the area last winter.
"There needs to be action applied against him as this is clearly a punishable act," stated an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.
"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user wrote.
Several fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from PTSD after a devastating incident at the end of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and harming many.
"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" said another message on Instagram.
A number of attendees also questioned event staff at the gathering for not being sufficiently alert; while some requested online networks to block Mr Wen's content.
In footage spreading on the internet, Grande seemed shocked when she was approached by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.
Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the remaining proceedings proceeded as normal.
Many of supporters had congregated in a crowd of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good international debut in a Singapore venue, including some who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it began.
The film, to be released on November 21, is the sequel of a two-film adaptation of the well-known theatrical musical Wicked, which centers on the unlikely relationship between two contrasting sorceresses.
The musical itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.
They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The initial film, Wicked, was the most successful movie of last year in the UK, and earned 10 award recognitions, earning a pair for outstanding attire and set decoration.
