The visionary game developer, who helped create the wildly popular video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California he was 55 years old.

His passing was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio that he helped create.

The celebrated game designer passed away following his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a motorway in Los Angeles on Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This is a devastating loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
